Shelves From Old Wooden Clamps and Pallet Wood

What do you get when you combine old wooden clamps and pallet wood? That’s simple, a new shelf. A friend of mine won a few old wooden clamps for me at an auction. He figured, I could use them somewhere in my home. I was thrilled to death.
They’re new home in the kitchen.

The wall is plaster and lathe behind the pallet wood, therefore I need a secure way to hang the clamps. I sent hubby to the store to pick up a few toggles.

Over the weekend we drilled and hung the clamps. It was quite the group project.

The clamps are different sizes creating a problem for the top shelf. I added a piece of wood to level the top shelf. It works like a charm. I attached the added piece to the board to prevent movement.

Then came the fun part… Adding junk!
I started out with the sugar and flour jars. That’s a must for any kitchen, right? I then added a couple funky coffee mills and an old weathervane on top.

I hunted down an old colander I purchased from a thrift store to use as a candle holder. Yeah, why not!

Battery and timer candles are my new must have. They are the coolest thing. You turn them on and and they shut off by themselves. No more worrying about a fire hazard, or turning them on and off each day because they take care of it. Love it!

And there you have it…
