Miriam Illions on Nov 24, 2014Great question! We just took it out after SUPER careful consideration. Here's why: the goal of Hometalk is to give people access to each other's experiences so they can use that info to make better decisions. We found that the like button is actually not as useful in this equation as the other buttons, so we chose to narrow the focus to buttons that provide value to Hometalkers. Hope this makes sense -- your feedback on this decision is most welcome, btw! :)Helpful Reply

R.V.R. Farris on Nov 24, 2014Oh, I generally used the "like" button so that I could get back to something at a later time. And, I wasn't particularly interested in linking my "likes" back to FB. However, I'll make adjustments.Helpful Reply

Van Randall on Nov 25, 2014I will miss the like button. I don't always have something to add to the conversation but I still want to acknowledge that I've read and like the post.Helpful Reply

Lulu Dubin on Nov 25, 2014Hi @Van and @R.V.R. Just to reiterate what Miriam said and to add - you can still acknowledge you read and liked a post, and keep it for later by clipping it. You can even create a new clipboard called "Posts I like" if a certain post doesn't necessarily fit within any of your current clipboards. We have found that clipboards are much more useful as a way to go back to a post you liked. As an added benefit, you can find those posts more easily later when they're saved on relevant boards. Thanks so much again for the feedback!Helpful Reply

AvonelleRed on Nov 25, 2014I think the like button was a valuable tool to let the person who posted a topic know that their topic is appreciated, without actually having to comment on the post. Sometimes you know you like something, but probably will never do it yourself, so there's no need to clip it, but you do want to show appreciation for the idea, but without necessarily having to come up with a comment about it. It was just a nice quick way to let someone know you liked something of theirs. I don't want to post everything I see and enjoy to Facebook.Helpful Reply
