Humpty Dumpty Roadside Rescue Desk

I got a call about CRAP ON A CURB...:) Hubby and I ran out in the dark with flashlights in hand to a RESCUE!. We had to fight a few raccoons and find all of the pieces to put it back together again, but I think it was worth it! Tell me what you think!!

Real wood and dovetails...nice. It is good to see this get saved. Earlier this week I assembled some Ikea bookshelves and an entertainment center for a client. The entertainment center was a bit nicer than the bookcase but both were made from particle board, with a RTF covers...the back of the book case was RTF over cardboard...jeesh that stuff is CRAP. I can see how those could end up in landfill in short order. once those pieces become humpty dumpty...its game over.

Beautiful!! Ah, the versatility of real wood. Love the color you chose, and how wonderful the old hardware looks on the renewed piece!

Thanks...I will send this info to my friend! I would love a chair covered in this fabric. In fact, I would love to paint my dining room chairs black and use this fabric! I may just do that. My chairs are pretty, but I don't know what they are made out of and some of the finish is coming off....I think the decorations are resin! Just do not know. If I do this, I will post photos!

Ha! Tricia @ Simplicity In The South Too funny! I can see you petting this! haha this is still very pretty , , but I am getting confused as to my desk that is just like this. I have been encouraged to just get a table for the tv, and bypass all this work. But it is sooo pretty, yes, I want to "pet" it too.

Bernice H, a friend of mine recently converted an old desk similar to this to a TV center by adding shelves in the area where your legs would normally go for the cable box and DVD player. Maybe you could do that?

I checked on-line and Hobby Lobby does not have that fabric so I am going by the store today to check it out! It may still be in the stores. I will let you know if I find it.
