White Oak Studio Designs on Aug 07, 2014Are you planning on sealing the inside of the coop? I ask because we are currently building a coop ourselves and I am trying to decide whether to paint of use poly on the inside of our coop. I want something that can be easily cleaned out and sanitized....Just jumped on your blog and found that you painted the inside white!!

Deborah S on Aug 08, 2014I did paint the inside white and would probably have sealed it, but it is made from OSB board, which tends to flake, so sealing wouldn't help much. It was an old playhouse that was given to us. I have cleaned it, but it is a bear to clean. I would recommend a smooth plywood, either painted with a good outdoor paint or sealed well.
