Take a necktie from the thrift store and turn it into a one-of-a-kind coffee cozy for your peppermint mocha this holiday season! Easy low-sew project and a great upcycling idea to boot!
First, cut a necktie to 13" from the widest end in.
Fold over the cut edge and hem it- just to keep it from fraying.
Now, take a strip of velcro (both loops and hooks sides) and sew one half on the outside of the narrow/sewed edge.
Then, sew the other half on the underside of the wide end.
Embellish with buttons if you'd like!
And then wrap around your to-go cup and enjoy! If your tie is thin or you prefer more insulation, simply trace your cozy on a piece of felt, sew to the underside of your tie, and then add the velcro!
