Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Sep 28, 2012Denise, go to ASHI to find an inspector who fits your needs. http://www.ashi.org/ Forget Angie's list. Not all great companies are listed on their site. Your correct on choosing an inspector who does a written report. Ask them for a sample copy. Most have web sites that can provide you with all the information you need. Ask your lawyer for a reference. He or she knows what reports work the best for your concerns. Expect to pay around $350 for a good report. Plus insect and radon. If there are other additional add on's that they offer, wait until the inspection is completed. Many buyers do oil tank inspections, pool inspections, lead paint, mold. These all cost big bucks, If the inspection indicates that there are major issues that may break the deal for you, you can walk away without having paid for additional reports that you do not need. Just be sure that you have the right via contract to have them done after the initial inspection has been done. If you have additional questions about the inspection process, please feel free to contact me on my profile page. I have successfully performed over 10,000 home inspections in the past 20 years. I am also part of a national group in which I can provide you with some names of qualified people in the area in which your looking to purchase.Helpful Reply
