Five Timesaving Tips For Decorating A Stunning Christmas Tree

I just finished decorating the Christmas tree and I am really happy with it how it looks. I had to do it by myself because my husband was out of town and my daughters are both away at university. I could have waited to trim the tree for when they came home in a couple of weeks but I wanted to have the house Christmas ready for their arrival.
It’s a pretty tall tree measuring at 7.5 feet (2.29 meters). I also have a lot of decorations that I have collected over the years. So it can take a pretty long time to decorate. But I have some timesaving tips that have helped make the task a little more manageable.
Tip #1

Choose a theme for your tree. I find it helps narrow down what decorations to buy and make and gives the tree that stunning look. I actually have a couple of themes including the colours red, gold and clear as well as ornaments that represent nature.
Tip#2

We invested in a pre-lit artificial tree a few years ago and I am so glad we did. It is so nice not having to wrap and unwrap strings of lights all around the tree every year.
Tip #3

Add a little more sparkle to your tree by hanging little square mirrors that have been glued together. I tuck them inside the branches towards the trunk of the tree.
Tip #4

I use red and gold strands of beads for the garland. I used to wrap these strands around the tree. It was a two-person time consuming job and things always seemed to get tangled. Now I just drape the strands over the top of the tree with pre-measured strands. It literally takes minutes to do.
Tip #5

i made this coordinating giant bow for the top and have the ribbon cascade down the sides.
The tree is all decorated and it does look stunning. It really was a pretty quick, low maintenance and very enjoyable job using these tips.

I invite you to read more about how I decorate the Christmas tree and check out lots more photographs of my red, gold, clear and nature inspired ornaments.
