Sliding Glass Door Hardware: Update Your Style for Under $23

I was so tired of seeing our worn out sliding glass door hardware. Last weekend I decided to dedicate a little bit of time and money to this project.

Our interior doors have oil rubbed bronze handles and hinges. And I wanted the sliding glass door handle to match. We could have bought a handle but I wanted to save a few bucks (more than a few bucks as it turns out!).

This is a really nice weekend project you can tackle. For more info on how to do it and some cool before & after pics click on this hyperlink http://www.homerepairtutor.com/sliding-glass...

those looks really nice. Did the spray paint effect the lock at all?

The lock works great. If you do multiple light coats of primer, topcoat, and clear coat you'll be fine.

I sanded my brass kitchen knobs and sprayed with hammered dark bronze by Rustoleum. They look great.

Love the look, I too want my hardware to match. We replaced our sliding doors with outswing french doors and bought hardware to match most of the rest of the house. We have lever handles instead of knobs because it's easier to open when your hands are full, downside is that coat pockets catch on the levers and the door won't let go lol. It's always when I'm in a hurry too. I think it's the house telling me to slow down and destress.

Kelly, I'd love to replace our sliding glass door with french doors. Are you happy with the brand you chose? If so, do you mind sharing the name? :)

I sprayed all my doorknobs with hammered look spray paint to hold me over until I buy all new knobs. They look great. Hammered look spray is the greatest. Just this past weekend I started to re-do my sons room. He's away at college so it's easier to get it done. I sprayed his night stand with the hammered grey color. I had did a faux paint job about 10 years ago and I'm ready for a change. I'll take some before and after pictures of his bookcase headboard before I spray it.

Home Repair Tutor , we ordered our door through Lowe's. It came pre-primed and has the mini blinds between the layers of glass. The blinds don't raise and lower but they do open and close. We have a dog that used to wreck curtains and vertical blinds so we wanted to be able to control light and have privacy when needed.

Kelly S. I ordered the same type door and installed it myself ! I removed the old sliding doors and then had my nephew help stand the new ones in place for me, after that i took over. They look so nice. I got the all white vinyl doors because they matched and i didn't have to paint them.

I am putting new kitchen cabinets rocklin ca to put into my home. I want it to be more up to date and maybe a different color so it doesn't look old. I am excited to see how it turns out!

We installed ours after my husband had a 5-way heart bypass surgery. Some friends from work came over to help me do it. Hubby couldn't open the slidder because it took over 5 lbs of pull. We had outswing ones so that it opened out to the deck.
