That's the craziest thing I've ever seen! You aren't kidding about the garbage truck, now if it would clean the house...LOL -
It was reminding me of one of those Rombas the way it was moving! lol Too bad it's so tiny or I would take it in!
-
this little things is amazing! -
In addition to apparently being insectivorous sanitation engineers, lacewings are very beneficial insects to have in the garden. The adults and their larvae prey upon a wide variety of small insects, including mealybugs, psyllids, thrips, mites, whiteflies, aphids, small caterpillars, leafhoppers and insect eggs. -
Isn't it, Mary? It has been fun to find out about it!
-
Thanks for all the information, Douglas! Maybe the little trash collector will decide to stay around!
-
I added a few new photos so that you can see its size and just what is underneath all that trash!
-
I wonder how they get that all on their backs? -
looks rather scrawny without all of that trash :) -
I don't know how they do it, Becky. An article that I read says that some of it is the carcases of their prey! Soooo...take a bite and pitch the remains on your back? lol
-
I thought the same thing, Marg! It looks like that would be a job to carry all your trash around on your back! lol
-
If he's friendly to the flower garden, bring him on! -
I read that he eats aphids, so I say move in and bring your family! lol
-
LOL Maybe that's just what he does Debbie. -
Honestly, this is the most interesting thing I've ever seen on Hometalk. Thanks for posting this, Debbie, and thanks to everyone else for the interesting information on this creature! -
lol 'take a bite and pitch the remains on your back' hehehe too funny Debbie. -
It is interesting, isn't it, Cindy? How I have lived all my life without ever seeing it before I don't know! And yes...thanks everyone for helping me find out what it is!
-
Hey....at least he's not a litterbug.....maybe he's just hunting the local bug recycling center! lol......This is too funny! -
Litterbug! lol You are too funny, Tammy! Maybe that's what it is...the bug recycling center is located on my patio and I didn't know it!
-
