Melting Faux Snow Texture

I love to experiment with textures and faux techniques and faux snow is not exception. The fluffy type faux snow is oh so pretty, but this faux snow technique has a melting snow appearance and might be a good technique to use on the roof tops of crafty holiday birdhouses and that sort of thing.
The recipe is simply a mix of

-1/2 cup baking soda

-1/2 cup white glue

-1 or two tablespoons of white craft paint

-a few tablespoons of warm water (sparingly)

-and it can all be finished off with a sprinkle of glitter.
I tested mine out on some soup cans, some painted, some not.
My first batch was a bit too drippy (as in this picture), so I thickened it up with more baking soda and glue.

My next batch was just about right. It kinda had the appearance of melting snow, but I suggest keeping the mixture as thick as possible.

It drips as it dries, so the thicker the better.

In the end, I had a simple but rustic holiday centerpiece, with a crafty melting faux snow look.

Would this work on glass jars? It would be pretty and then put a light inside. I think I may try this on picture frames.
