Sherry Fram on Dec 09, 2014How many of the curtains are in your room?? That would decide if you get a heavy patterned rug vs one that is solid or has very little pattern to it.Helpful Reply

Pamela Sandall on Dec 09, 2014Here's a little technique for pattern mixing: Random, repeat, mini. It's a formula we use all the time to guarantee great results with pattern blending, which is basically all you're doing: Treating your area rug like another fabric in the room. Soooo...you're drapery fabric is your random (a large, overall pattern). Your next two options are a repeat (a repeating pattern, such as a stripe, geometric, wave or similar). Finally a mini (which is a small scale pattern, could be small floral or mini check or similar). Does that make sense? Your rug could be an all over, small scale floral, like a traditional style rug OR go more modern and use a repeat with stripe or geometric on the floor. Don't forget to bring in the third shape in the form of pillows or other soft accessories to help round it out. Be fearless!Helpful Reply

Martha Grice on Dec 09, 2014Not easy to say since you did not give the color of your other furniture and accessories. A dusty rose or a dark burgundy would look nice. Since the curtains are of a rather busy pattern the rug should not have too much in the way of pattern. A solid color or a rug with swirls of the colors of the curtains would look nice. I like the curtains and would like to see the finished product and know how it came out and how you like it. Good luck, and looking forward to the finial picture.Helpful Reply

Anne Peck on Dec 10, 2014I took two more pictures. i am not done with the painting of the walls but took a picture to show the color. Also the couch is a L shaped but we had to take out a part to accommodate the Christmas tree.Helpful Reply

Lana Baker on Dec 10, 2014I would go with gold. Don't go with too dark of a color, as that will show every bit of lint,Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Dec 11, 2014What is your flooring? Hardwood - light or dark? Think this is an important consideration, too.Helpful Reply

Anne Peck on Dec 11, 2014Floors are hardwood, light honey oak small plank. I'd like the rug to be between the fire place (painted white brick) and sofa.Helpful Reply

Opal on Dec 13, 2014I'm liking this one (link below) because it has most of the same colors as the drapes (just smaller bits), goes with the sofa & white fireplace. I also believe it goes well with your walls and will not show dirt easily. My only concern being that it will blend/wash out against the flooring. http://www.amazon.com/Traditional-Oriental-Carpet-Floral-Resistant/dp/B00OJBPQZA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hg_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0JNV3QCC37CQTYSSE1T3Helpful Reply

S. Roy on Aug 31, 2015I would like a bold abstract floral with the colors in your draperies. With the dark color on the walls and and the neutral color on your sofa, you need something to pull all of it together. A rug like this would do it for you.Helpful Reply
