Think outside of the box when it comes to furniture. Dressers aren't just for clothes! After searching for weeks, I finally found the perfect piece of furniture to add to my kitchen. A dresser from The Salvation Army provides me with a place to store kitchen and dining linens. It gives me a place to display my farmhouse pretties too. In a pinch, it serves as a buffet when we're entertaining. A good cleaning (inside and out) with Murphy's Oil Soap made the finish of the dark wood shine. A dryer sheet added to each drawer gets rid of the slightly musty smell. They can be removed later, once the musty smell is gone.
A view of the dresser along with my kitchen table and chairs.
I was able to display some of my favorite farmhouse pretties on top of the dresser and on the wall above it.
A tiered stand is a great place for displaying collectables.
Pops of green were added to brighten the mostly white accessories.
A farmhouse vignette.
I can store all of my kitchen and dining linens here.

Marion Nesbitt on Jun 29, 2015Nice find. Looks good. Have a German shrank with drawers and some built-ins original to my house for tablecloths, etc. However, use an old dresser for small tools, and a lot of misc. small items like felt pads for furniture legs, etc.
