Susan on Dec 10, 2014use a white glaze instead of paint. you can use a wash of vinegar and water to take tje sheen away and allow paint ro stick.Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Dec 11, 2014I love rattan. Personally, rather than paint, I might use Minwax Polyshades for a little different tone. I did a couple of chairs in a darker tone and they look great.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Dec 11, 2014You could even combine the stain and glaze. And white wash it, wipe it in wipe it off after a few minutes. It is slow build up but glaze you have more time to work with and by doing it a layer at a time gives you more control.Helpful Reply
