What can you make for a 12 year old boy out of fleece?
-
LeeAnn Gerleman on Dec 19, 2014Depends on your sewing expertise. I make fleece hoodies for my grandkids, fleece cut and tie blankets. For my granddaughter there are felt and fleece caps and scarves for winter. You could make a hoodie out of fleece that has his favorite team on it. Wouldn't take long. Twelve year old boys are difficult to buy for, even older teen boys. For my grandson, when he was twelve, I made him a camo fleece blanket, a fleece flag for his wall (he was into military stuff), and now he's 17 and I had no idea, so I bought a gift certificate for 25.00 for Xbox. and popcorn in a tin.Helpful Reply

Carole on Dec 21, 2014Just a note on safety. Usually kids clothing is made (or supposed to be made, especially in the case of sleepwear) to a fire proof rating standard. If his home has any open fires or electric bar fires I would take care in using this for clothing, especially for nightwear. I don't think fleece would be very flame retardant. A bean bag or hoodie sounds like a fun idea. Maybe standards have changed nowadays due to the cheap imports from China and similar areas but pays to be careful.Helpful Reply
