Organizing Cookie Cutters

I have a pretty good sized collection of cookie cutters, and desperately needed a way to keep them stored, organized, and easy to find the cutters I needed.
The perfect solution to my cookie cutter mess? 12x12 plastic storage containers designed for holding scrapbook paper!
They're available at any craft store, and are often on sale. When they are, I stock up, because these things are SO useful. I also use them for storing papers and projects for each of my girls each school year. Label the front with the name, grade, and teacher, stack easily in the closet, and the stuff I want to save gets tucked away safely as soon as it comes in the house.
For cookie cutters, I make a paper label, and write the type of cookie cutters that are in each box (Christmas, for example), and then I write exactly what shapes I already have. When I buy a new cutter, I add that shape to the list. No more multiple teapot cookie cutters because I couldn't find the one I already had!

Suzy @ Worthing Court Blog on Dec 22, 2014What a great idea! Mine are all currently stored in miscellaneous bins that won't stack together. Definitely going to borrow your idea. Thank you for sharing!

Kyn on Jan 19, 2015I love that idea for storing cookie cutters. The ones that I have collected, I plan on using them as decorations around the border of my kitchen. The cutters that I have are for all seasons. The best place to find more of the wonderful cutters is in old hardware stores, they are so much fun to go through.
