10 Tips To Help You Use Your Day Planner Consistently And Effectively

It is close the beginning of a New Year and a time where we think about wanting to be more organized and planned. I shared in another Hometalk post titled “How To Design And Create Your Own Personal Planner” about how I create and design my own planner so it suits my planning system rather than have to adjust to a pre-made one.
It’s great to have a planner but it can be difficult using it consistently and effectively. Here are ten tips I use to make sure that happens.
1. Commit to referring to your planner daily and weekly.
5. Record in short code that makes sense to you: T swims 7-10 @ Splashy Pool
7. Check off or cross out things as they are completed.
9. Keep your planner in a visible location as a constant reminder to refer to it.

Lori on Dec 30, 2014I am going to try very hard this year. I buy one every year, write my name and address in it, usually throw it out at the end of the year and buy a new one. There is no reason other than I haven't been able to make it a habit. I even have a pattern, my husband is almost a planner freak, always has been, and I often say to him, write that in your book, while mine sits on my desk. Wish me luck.
