Barbara Burnham on Jan 02, 2015I agree with exterior primer (available in spray can), exterior paint and marine varnish often called Spar varnish on can. Be sure to coat the bottoms of the feet do moisture from the ground doesn't wick into the wood.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Jan 06, 2015@Nanny not sure if you are just putting it outside you will need to use outdoor products. I would recommend an polyurethane intended for outdoor use. If you are painting the piece this would go over top and I would recommend 4-6 coats. Don't forget to do all exposed pieces, including the back. Good luck.Helpful Reply
