Thrift Store Find Distressed and almost finished
by
Leslie D
(IC: homeowner)
This is the black spray-painted $39 Thomasville dresser we found at a thrift store last weekend. After sanding, priming, painting and layering on multiple colors, then sanding again to distress, I stained the entire dresser over the paint to give it an aged, worn look. This is my first try at distressing and we're happy with the way it turned out. Entire project, dresser, partial cans of paint from Habitat for Humanity Restore and hardware came in at under $100! Simple ring pulls are on order, and I'm considering stenciling on apothecary lettering on the "drawers"...too much or would you go for it?
Enjoyed the project?
