Love the look of butcher block, but would like a darker finish? Here's tips on how-to cut, stain and install Ikea butcher block counters. Includes a full tutorial on modifying your builder grade kitchen island as seen in my Better Homes and Gardens feature.
This amazing transformation is one you will have to see to believe!
We have step-by-step directions on our blog and know you will be amazed when you see how this island looked before.
With very little money this kitchen island got a brand new look and completely transformed the space bringing it into this decade.

Creatively Living on Apr 14, 2016Thanks for sharing! These look wonderful and exactly what I was hoping to find. I'm planning on purchasing some butcher block (likely IKEA) and I want to stain them...my house is a little too rustic/farm house for the normal butcher block color :-) Thank you! Good work!
