Fall photos of SE Oklahoma

I love to take pictures and especially love the fall time of the year. Due to ongoing drought and extreme temperatures, the colors are just not here this year. When family came in from Colorado, we ventured out to visit the old farm place that they grew up on and I was able to still find beauty in a different way. The folks that own the farm were gracious enough to let us roam. A lot of the old equipment is still sitting where Granddad and Uncle Ray left it. Frozen in time I suppose:)

Tina @ Repurposed Life on Oct 23, 2012Thanks ladies! The cool thing about the cultivator is the tree has grown up into it. I told Honey that I wanted him to go and offer go buy that tree from the sweet folks that own the farm and chop it down, and bring back the stump with the cultivator entombed in it, that way I can put it in our yard! Ellen, we were able to retrieve boards last time we were out there and we made picture frames. They do have a wall of original house that is laying on the ground, pretty much in tack and they told us to come back and load it up! It was the house my (mil) was born in! Gonna put it on one of our shop walls! I love old wood! I actually came back with another surprise , poison ivy:(. Not a bad case but definitely not what I wanted heading to the Big Apple tomorrow!

Country Design Style-Jeanette on Oct 23, 2012Tina, my mom and I just returned from our road trip to Ponca City, OK, our hometown. We wanted to visit my maternal grandparents farm {which is the place closes to my heart} but the current residences must have been on vacation too. They were not home each time we stopped:( The last time I walked the farm I was 13. Maybe next time. Thank you for sharing your photos and memories.
