Bed Spring & Vintage Ornie Tree!

I couldn't pass up this Christmas tree fashioned out of old bed springs at a recent craft show I attended. It was pretty darn cute just as it was sold and while I can't take credit for the clever repurpose, I did have lots of fun embellishing it.
So here's how it looked right out of the bag--don't you love the burlap rose?
I knew right away I wanted to paint this spring-y tree white to hang on my gray wall. Later, while I was decorating with my Vintage ornaments, I was also inspired to dress it up. I love the combination of the rustic springs with the timeless colorful ornaments. Plus the shape of the spring lends itself as the perfect "holder"--the ornies sit securely in the narrow part. Do you remember my glass door knob hanger? I usually hang a Vintage bag on it. I adjusted the tree so that it was visible in the center. I smile every time I walk by it :)

Nice use of the tree! I don't always put much on my tree - heck, sometimes I don't even have a tree big enough to put much ON - and this would be a great way to show off some of the old ornaments. (and I have a queen-sized set of springs just waiting for some projects!)
    • Thanks, Nancy! Your bedsprings for an ornament display would be great. I saw another blogger do this in the shape of tree and it was beautiful!
