Cleaning ceramic tile
-
Christy on Jan 06, 2015I too have issues with keeping ceramic clean, mostly the grout. I have not tried this, but my mother in law uses a Shark hard floor cleaning machine that uses water and suction to clean her tile and she likes it. She uses a water and vinegar solution. Make sure the grout is well sealed. I mop weekly with bucket of very hot water (heated on stove) and very small amount of Mr Clean.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Jan 06, 2015It depends on how dirty your tile is I can give you the right way to clean it, or tell you another way to clean it that is unconventional. This is what I use for the direst if the dirtiest to clean. We clean rentals and use this when they are dirty. Steam cleaning will help, but I don't think the shark will work. A vaporlux machine puts out supper hot heat, and they can be rented. And then re-sealed. But you have to get in your hands and knee's to clean it. This is what we use on rentals. Again this isn't for everyone. I buy non aerosol degreaser/oven cleaner. A mop, plenty of rinse water. And this gets slick so be careful. Mop the floor with plain water, then spray with the degreaser/oven cleaner, don't over spray it gets slick and to much cleaner and you will be rinsing forever. Wear gloves this peels my hands. Mop, then rinse. Keep rinsing. The worst thing is leaving any cleaner in the floor because dirt will grab it and you will have the same problem again. The right way to clean is to use a regular clean and hot water, mop, let set 20 minutes and mop a again and rinse. Rinse again. And dry. I always throw a Terry cloth down and use my mop to dry.Helpful Reply

Shari on Jan 06, 2015A year ago, I jumped on the steam mop wagon and oh my gosh, has it ever changed my life. Seriously! Mopping used to be my most dreaded chore. This steam mop makes it so quick and easy, and it does an amazing job with just water. (Distilled water is recommended). No more wringing out traditional mops or buckets of nasty water for me! I use it on several kinds of tile, vinyl and sometimes very carefully on my laminate, and it leaves them squeaky clean.without having to use any cleaners or chemicals. We live on a horse farm so, believe me, my floors get really dirty, plus we have indoor pets. In fact, just 30 minutes ago, I used it on the vinyl floor in the laundry room after the cat had a diarrhea accident by the litter box. Despite the mess it was, I feel confident the floor is clean and sanitized now after steam mopping it. This is the mop I bought. (Actually I bought 2; 1 for Daughter and 1 for me.) http://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-Powerfresh-Steam-White-1940/dp/B0091YYUAM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1393908490&sr=8-2&keywords=bissell+powerfreshHelpful Reply
