Glass Christmas Trees

What you will need for the project:

Styrofoam cones or stack trees.

Craft paint

Brush

Glue gun

Glue sticks

Glass bowl fillers (the ones that are flat on the bottom).

The process is so simple.

Paint the styrofoam, let dry

Glue on the glass

Ha! I think I have this saved on Pinterest. Thanks for the heads up Bernice H. This would be something fun to do with our grandsons.

Thanks Alderberry Hill for posting it here. I have a bag full of the glass cabochons just waiting for a project like this.

Bernice H, that's a great idea. I hadn't thought of it as a toddler craft project. He was doing lots of cooking with me tonight. Maybe it's time for him to help make a Christmas tree.

yuuupp!SheilaG, Plum Doodles I have so many projects I can do, where would I start? My little house is beginning to look cluttery, but I love those trees.hmmm I also need to make more cd's to hang , i moved the other ones. This could also be done using old buttons or pieces of costume jewlery like the kind you find for $5 a jarful at fleamarkets or Sally's. The glass just makes it sparkle.

That cute little owl was store bought but it does look homemade, I bet it could be reproduced at home!

Added ideas: 1. grout tree for 'permanency'

    2. cover tree with pebbles and then grout

    3. cover tree with various nuts, in the shell. Store 'safely', away from mice. I know.

How about using broken china and grout for an elegant effect?

Thanks so much for posting this. I have tons of these left over from a birthday brunch and I've been wondering what to do with them. I'll give it a try.

Styrofoam brand sent them to me directly for a Christmas craft series last year. Here is a link to the stack trees. http://www.floracraft.com/products/styrofoam...

I love this idea, I make Christmas Trees out of large thick magazines, by folding the pages to stand like a tree, glue cotton balls closly together, decorate withChristmas or any flowers of your decor, I can not keep one on hand they go as fast as they are decorated!
