Ideas on what I can do with the extra long bumper of baby bedding?

I am about to convert my daughter's bed into a toddler bed and fix her up her own room. I want to keep her bedding because she has never had her own room and it is too beautiful not to keep using! She has never slept on it either so it is basically brand new. It is a round bumper, too not one of the wider flat ones. Suggestions, please!

Take the material and stuffing and make her throw pillows for her bed. Or if her bed has a half moon head board you can take the material and make a head board cover to match her covers.

I have not done this - yet - but as much a kids love to be on the floor - cut it into equal lengths, sew cut ends closed - sew each length together at the long sides - making a mat to read, play, watch tv - I have seen this done with pillows - but that seems too bulky -

Could make a decorative cormis board type , window Valance . Where the seams of the natural bumper is , can run lace or beautiful ribbon down seam, with maybe bow, or something at end , that hangs down . Could even recover with another print or fabric.

Great idea's mentioned! I had fun doing what Claudia mentioned. My grand-girl's love having a reading & coloring area in their playroom. The round shape would make a perfect floor cushion/mat for a cute book-nook space in her new room. I also bought wooden spice racks from Ikea to paint & hang in the reading corner for my grand-girl's book collection. :)

Make pillows. Cut to desired lengths.
  • I would use the fabric to make window valances to match the bedding. So cute!!

  • Utilizing the fabric and filler, craft toss pillows for her bed. Might create a beautiful window valance in the style of a cormis board. In her new room, the circular form would be ideal as a floor cushion or mat for a charming book nook area.
