Have you ever fallen in love with a piece of furniture? For me, it was the amazing Trestle Door Coffee Table from Restoration Hardware. What I didn't fall in love with is the $2000 price tag. So in a moment of inspiration, I decided to recreate this beauty and ended up spending only $70! Full details on the blog.
The inspiration photo on top. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted it. My version below.
The top of the table. I opted to use a plank style because I like the look, but the top could easily be made out of a solid piece of plywood or, if you want to stay true to the RH design, you could use an old door.
The angles on this project were very challenging. Because the bases are recessed back, there were quite a few miters and angles to deal with.
In the end, we are thrilled with the results and, although it was a lot of work, I love looking at this everyday and knowing I made it myself.
Enjoyed the project?
