Old Door Used as Hall Art

I sold a large wicker basket on ebay and was idly looking at what the buyer had for sale herself when I saw this door. Must have been Kismet.
I already had the Scrabble tile canvas's hung with the word HOME and a little bird cage on the fifth tile hanging on the hall wall and underneath was the little pine Ikea fold out table that I painted black and used in our hallway as a drop off point for keys and mail. This door was going for $10 and was in a nice grey that would pick out the grey in the hall runner.
Since ours is a new build home, all the walls were painted in neutral tones, so bringing in some colour without having to paint the wall in our small hall was something I had in mind for a while. This door was the perfect solution. My husband picked it up today (so lucky it was narrower than a normal size door and just fit the hatchback lengthways - just!)
My husband was doubtful it would fit in the car at first when I showed him a photo of it on ebay and said I should not have bid without getting the measurements first, but somehow it was too good to pass up. I have fixed a bracket to the wall to hold it there as I don't want our over exuberant dog to knock it down. I also made a simple coat rack using a piece of pine timber, which I gave a washed look with some Minwax Slate grey timber stain and added some vintage style cabinet knobs to hang coats from. The screws have since been countersunk so I can add Polyfilla over them and stain them to blend with the timber.

@Hannah V Thanks. I am going to try to get this attached to the wall for safety and because it may look better that way and also want to get rid of the brown backing board and hang the Scrabble tiles from chicken wire or something that is see through. Not loving the brown back board at present.

I love this! I have a door panel in my garage waiting for inspiration for months now. This might be the inspiration I need! Thanks for sharing your project.
