Radiant heat questions

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jan 14, 2015Any basement floor should be only tile. Unless its a walk out. Basement floors have a tendency to become damp and promote mold in any soft organic type of material. This includes wood, laminate, vinyl. You are way ahead of the game if you put down a large tile or simply paint the floor using any of the great epoxy paints available. Using area rugs for comfort on the feet is all that is needed. Radiant heat will transfer though the rugs still allowing it to warm the room. I am curious however was radiant installed under the floor is it simply the result that the pipes from the outside boiler is running under the cement?Helpful Reply
