Dining/Living Room

Joanne
by Joanne
I received so many wonderful ideas. I did a few suggestions. Moved the couch and tables. These are a couple of pillows I picked up. I was thinking of moving the existing pictures in the dining room to the living room. I have another one by the same artist (water colors ). That is wide. I will look for an area rug with color.
Changing curtains is not an option right now. Working on a small budget. Paint color and shades will be changed.
Thanks again everyone.

OMG what a place you have, Love it. Looks like you have the sofa facing a picture window, good idea. Love the wrought iron.

It does look wonderful and as I said you have great things to work with. I love soft greys but in this case I think you need walls with standout colour to show off all your neutral furnishings. See the green in the picture above your plant by the entryway, the green in the mat, something in that line of green would be perfect (I M O) When you go to the store to look at greens you are going to think, where do I start, there is so many. Now this is important, go a nice deep, not dark, just deep sagey green, and don't chicken out. Don't go light. Your room is bright and light and you are so lucky to be able to go a darker colour and at night when the lights are on, OMG, it will be so awesome. My final tip is get black lampshades and the brass lamps will look new. Look for a bit modern shape , maybe round, just pick what you love. They will pull that black and white picture on the green wall right into the room. I think if you do these things and keep looking for that area rug you will be happy. Green and red are complimentary colours on the colour wheel so your pretty cushions will be perfect. That lets you get a rug with all those colours in it, or if you go plain, a border or fringe. It's almost a shame to cover those beautiful floors so I'd go smaller rather than larger. Hope I didn't sound like a bossy cow but this is so exciting I get carried away. :)
