Carole on Jan 20, 2015Paint it a funky colour for a kids wardrobe. It needs a mirror and maybe a fairy theme for a little girl? Some dress up clothes for a little 'un - think tutu or fairy costume - lots of pink. Maybe decoupage the inside with some pretty wallpaper. That is what I would do anyhow.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jan 20, 2015Can you turn it sideways, so the long side is down, put legs on it and install desk hinges on the door so it turns into a desk? You can take both doors and join them with trim boards that are exposed on the front so both doors act like a single one. For the base side which is the current bottom cut it to match the top of this cabinet. Paint and finish the back side of door with a protective coating, The cubbies can be used for mail etc. While the long area can be used to store papers laptop etc.Helpful Reply

Lori Darling on Jan 20, 2015I would add shelving to the 'open' side where clothing was meant to hang, then use it to store sweaters, jeans or other bulky clothing, Or, you could use the open side to store purses and other bags, hanging from hooks.Helpful Reply

Susan on Jan 20, 2015Make an adorable 'American Girl Doll' wardrobe. Buy a small mirror, doesn't have to be the full length, measure for the correct height for 18" doll and add some plastic bins on shelves for clothes, a rod for hanging (two if there's room) and paint a pink color with decorative flowers decoupaged on it. Flower wallpaper in the shelf areas would add some more interest. A little girl would be so happy to receive this!Helpful Reply

Karen Robinson on Jan 20, 2015It's a child's wardrobe. I have one just like it. I painted it orange on the top, sides, and back. I used black chalkboard paint on the doors and added some fun door knobs that I found at Holly Lobby for the doors. The kids love drawing on the front and it's great storage for their clothes. Mine has a clothes rod built in, but if yours doesn't, you could use an expansion rod. Helps kids hang up their own clothes and makes them feel more grown up.Helpful Reply

Barbara on Jan 20, 2015I can see it as sewing and craft storage. The tall rolls of paper can go in the open side and plastic buckets of bows, ribbons, etc on the otherHelpful Reply

Becky Burkes Self on Jan 20, 2015I've seen this turned into a little kitchen center for kids. Cut top half of door off. Make bottom a stove a and oven then on other side put other half of door on bottom for fridge. Top are shelves for play food. You could put a little balance on the stove side and put some kind of peel and stick picture in there. Of c course paint it any colors :-)Helpful Reply

Laurajean on Jan 20, 2015Perhaps you could turn it sideways and put it on a desk (or mount it to the wall) for bills and mail and paper storage. I have an area in my kitchen that I use for mail and things, but I would love to hide it all - this would work. You'll need a magnet for the bottom door and those "stay-open type" hinges for the top one.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Jan 20, 2015What a great piece to use in an entryway! Either clean it and give it a good Old English rub down or paint it. Add hooks on the left side for hanging of jackets, the shelves can be for book bags or put in bins to hold school needs...those things they don't want to forget! Hang a chalk board above it for notes to remind mom and kids!Helpful Reply

CK on Jan 20, 2015If you're planning to resell it anyway, why not paint it a nice neutral color (maybe white or off-white, cream) and let the buyer decide its next use. If I told you what I'd use it for, you might be surprised ;-)Helpful Reply

Myrna Engle on Jan 20, 2015The picture has it in a closet. I don't think that does it justice. This little storage furniture could store anything in any room. I'd give it a very somber sedate look. Paint some areas and refinish others. There's room for novel paint job on front, and highly refined super shiny top. This way it would appeal to larger audience; so you could ask more and get more for it.Helpful Reply

Darla DeMorrow on Jan 20, 2015It's crying out to become a linen closet. Add a hanging bar to the left and hang pressed table cloths there. The right side is perfect for rolled place mats, napkins, and trivets. It looks like it's just big enough to set a tray and a mini-bar on the top. Voila! What more could you need?Helpful Reply

Aussiebeachgirl on Jan 21, 2015Paint it and turn it into a craft cupboard. I did with something similar, and I wouldn't be without my 'own space' right now! Add some molding to 'joosh' it up, if you like. Use chalk paint like Annie Sloan as no prior prep needed.Helpful Reply
