Can someone tell me how to fix the hot water level in my shower?

My husband replaced our old hot water heater with a new one. Since then we have to turn the single handle tub faucet almost all the way to the left to get hot water. It wasn't like this before he switched out heaters. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi Franne, It sounds like the the thermostat needs adjusting, which may be found on the new water heater. Good Luck.

I wish there was an alternative to those single-handle tub faucets! I really dislike them, but it seems that is all that is available new.

I agree with Donna. There is a thermostat that you can adjust. new heaters usually come set very low!

My husband did the same thing to my shower head!

It seems to me that you adjust that little screw in the handle of the facet when you put in a new hot water heater. I know it sounds weird but pretty sure that's what our directions said. Can't hurt to try!

But, I agree about the thermostat too, as I like to keep it higher than my husband likes for that purpose and longer showers. Haha, he tries to pull a fast one on me now and then by turning it down to save energy but I can always tell.
