Sherry Stambaugh on Jan 20, 2015If your lucky, some come off while soaking them in water but it depends on the winery as to how easily they come off.Helpful Reply

Kendra B on Jan 20, 2015I just use a blow dryer on them. It loosens the glue and they peel right off.Helpful Reply

Pat Wever Linback on Jan 20, 2015I'd go with the hair dryer idea. It ill take a few minutes to soften the glue, but it won't damage the labelHelpful Reply

Andrea Robert on Jan 20, 2015As Sherry said, it depends on the winery. Some labels are applied with glue, others are applied with a peel-and-stick adhesive. With the old glues, soaking in water used to work fine, but that won't work with the peel and stick adhesives. You could try a product I love, called Un-Du, which actually disengages the label from the bottles but leaves the adhesive intact. But there are some labels that resist everything I try. Then I go and drink another bottle of the wine. ;)Helpful Reply

Malinda HumanRights on Jan 21, 2015Place on a baking sheet-labels facing up, and bake for 15 minutes @ 350 degrees. Not all labels will come off, but most will. I did the soaking thing...too cumbersome and messy.Helpful Reply

Linda T on Jan 21, 2015Short story. Living in Saudi Arabia, I and a friend took the 4 most strict days of Ramadan to holiday in Jordan, where the 'rules' are much more relaxed (Women can drive!) In the Amman airport, I bought a bottle of wine to drink before we left, choosing the label especially because it was both alcohol, and had a Christian themed picture (both illegal in KSA!) as I wanted to take the label back to frame and hang on the wall of our compound home. There was an open kitchen plan there, where even the dishwasher could be seen, so I signaled him to 'come here' and gestured (He didn't know English, or French) that I wanted him to get the label off for me. We watched as he ran boiling, steaming water over it and then start to SCRAPE! He removed the label alright! In shreds, and with a broad smile, handed me the sparkling clean bottle! My companion couldn't contain herself and burst out laughing, so we hurriedly left the area where I dumped the bottle in a trash can! Serves me right I suppose, for wanting to 'cock a snoot' at the awful Saudi regime!Helpful Reply
