Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jan 21, 2015Both are great suggestions. Not knowing the type of gas supply you have makes it harder to suggest. Also depending upon your region in which you reside makes a difference also. You may need a few different contractors to complete this project for you. A fireplace professional to install the gas log system, Then a plumber to install the gas pipes. Remember gas logs for fireplaces require a turn off valve within visual distance of the fireplace. Normally a special valve is installed in the wall or through the floor where a key is used to turn on and off the supply to the logs. While the log system itself will have a shut off, the gas code requires this 2nd one where you can turn off the fireplace system in case of an emergency without leaving the room.Helpful Reply

Leah M on Jan 21, 2015We got a free stove, but had to pay a plumber to come install it. Also needed a plumber to install the gas line because the house wasn't equipped for a gas dryer (who's bright idea was that when everything else was gas!)Helpful Reply

Deborah Cioletti on Jan 21, 2015Thanks for the helpful information. I have NATURAL GAS already for heat and want to add gas logs and gas range. Hopefully a certified plumber can do both, plus a permanent line to grill.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jan 21, 2015Yes if you have natural gas the plumber is who can run this line for you. But I suggest that you look into a fireplace store for the correct gas burner and install for the fireplace let them install that and have plumber do the rest.Helpful Reply
