Foam letter residue stuck to wall, how do I remove it?

The residue is left on the wall, and I don't know how to get it off.

i use eucalyptus oil to remove any sticky residue. check a wee area first to make sure it doesn't damage your surface

@Sara Arenburg A coworker of mine used mayonnaise to get the stickers and residue off the walls of her Daughters bedroom.She said to leave it sit for a few minutes and lightly scrape with an old credit card,for the ones that were a little more stubborn she just repeated the process.She said you have to stay with it so that the oil from the mayonnaise doesn't seep into the wall but that it worked perfectly, she washed the walls and was ready to paint.I hope this helps you.

Agree with the Goo Gone suggestion. I keep a bottle in my cleaning supplies. Spray and let it soak in for a few minutes then wipe away.

Mr. clean Magic Eraser. My kids stuck foam stickers all over my island and that's how I got them off! It was a nightmare though... I hate foam stickers.

Use margarine. It eats away at sticky residues and leaves no stains. Works on ceramic wood, leathers, glass, metals, etc. but not paper products. It takes on any petroleum based products also. It leaves an oil residue on material that you can remove with cornmeal etc and wash with normal stain remover after. Make sure it is all gone before you dry it though. A good substitute for anyone who does not like harsh chemicals. Cheaper too lol.

I had glue dots stuck on my front door and WD 40 worked like a charm.  I'm thinking any kind of oil you use on the wall will show, so you may have to repaint.  Although it left no marks on my front door.

Almost any oil will work, also acetone, warm vinegar soak, baby oil, goo gone, hair dryer/oil and credit card scraper, and my old favorite, WD40. Start with the least destructive to your paint and work up from there!

try nail varnish remover (the low acetone one) also great for cleaning the wire and rose on lights that hand from the ceiling, put some on a cloth and rub, dont soak surface specially near electricity,

used wd-40 and it worked on foam stickers. then I used dawn and white vinegar to wipe up the oil that ran down the door

Spray the stained area with All Purpose cleaner and wipe with paper towels. If stain persists, dampen a sponge with warm water and liquid dish soap to work the area in a circular motion. Rinse with water.
