Help me pick out wall mural for small european apartment
Below is another view of the blank wall to the right of the the built-in closet and the bed. It is white and empty. My solution? A picture mural.

Country Design Home on Jan 24, 2015I've always wanted to try a mural on a focal wall. Great way to expand your space and make it seem larger. Since its a bedroom and should be restful, I am thinking that the Foggy Budapest mural might be the best choice. But the Castle Hill Stairs would be nice too, as it would give the illusion of a headboard. Make sure you show the after pic!Helpful Reply

Joyce Overbay on Jan 24, 2015On 2nd thought I think I like either of the bridges. They stretch out so the whole wall will not be covered. Maybe make the room apear a little longer......Helpful Reply

Janet Manger on Jan 24, 2015I know you are talking bridges, If you can color, you can do the same thing. You can do a large tree. For the grandkids I made '100 Dalmatians' & 'Under the Sea' themes. I took simple coloring books you find in the kids sections, rented an over-head projector from the local library and when I projected the images on the walls I just did an outline with a lead pencil. Fill in the colors with water based paints and if you want to do any 'shading' you can. When you get tired of the murals, just paint over them and they are gone.Helpful Reply

Tag4reel on Jan 24, 2015They all look like great pictures to me, I would also have a hard time determining which one to choose. My suggestion would be to opt for the least busiest picture. Reasoning for this is the room looks like it may have limited available space and making it busy may tend to give you a crowded feeling. Your bedroom is your one place to go and relax, determine which picture puts you at ease and relaxed and I think you would have your choice! ;o)Helpful Reply

Christine Tripi on Jan 24, 2015If you are planning to do both walls - then I would use the Liberty Bridge and wrap it around, it would give a great feeling of space to the room. I would position it at about headboard height and paint the lower part of the wall an ocean blue. I would water down the paint and paint the water in the picture so it all flows together. If only doing one wall then I would pick the Castle Hill Stairs. Both pictures give the sleeper a pleasant dream, one is floating on water and the other is taking the stairs to heaven. I think the other pictures are better suited for a dramatic entry hall then a bedroom, unless you think it would inspire your guest(s) not to stay too long! LOLHelpful Reply

Paula McCarthy on Jan 24, 2015Stairs - definitely the stairs...the wall would look as though there was somewhere beyond that wall...it would definitely draw the eye to that wall...I would crop it so that the photo's existing floor and the partial arch at left would also be cut out; then you could add faux subtle brick on the rest of that wall...plus for a bedroom it's the most romantic of all the photos...Helpful Reply

Sandi Remedios on Jan 24, 2015I like the bridges, especially the Liberty Bridge. I think the scale better suits the room. The others seem a little massive for the space. IMHOHelpful Reply

Kathy on Jan 27, 2015I love the first one, the Liberty bridge, as a muralist, I would think that the bridge gives great depth and distance.but it is also soft in perspective...it would not overwhelm your space and and make you feel that you are being slapped in the face by the image being too close and large in perspective....Helpful Reply
