Taylor @ TayRose Design on Jan 23, 2015Such a pretty space...here is what I would suggest. I would take down the floral panels and just leave the sheers or do a plantation shutter in white. I love the beadboard that goes around the room, and I see you have some pink in the rug, so I would paint above the beadboard on the wall and up on the ceiling in a soft pink, or, if painting the ceiling is a bit scary, paint the beadboard the soft pink and leave the bit of top wall and ceiling the white. I would remove several of the pillows on the bed and maybe do a Euro pillow in back in white eyelet, with a standard pillow in front and an accent pillow in the soft pink. A pretty, soft throw at the end of the beds would bring some color to the end of the bed and pick up the color from the rug. The lamp is a little small for scale and could be larger, but you could put a couple of books underneath it to raise it up a bit. Such a fun place to decorate!Helpful Reply

Linda T on Jan 24, 2015I love it all too, but I agree with Taylor. The curtains don't fit. Even a white sheet with tie- would flow better. Wish I could come take a nap!Helpful Reply

Terry on Jan 24, 2015What a sweet space! I love all the white! It appears you're going for a cottage style. The floor painted white keeps the room looking larger yet the space is cozy. I think less pillows would be better and the green one could be replaced with a lighter green pillow, (more like the vase) to give the room a pop of color. I agree with Taylor and Linda about the curtains. They don't fit the rest of the decor. A little bit of color, like throw blankets at the end of the beds like Taylor suggested, would bring more balance to the room. Maybe something light pink and/or light green. I LOVE the table you chose, really adds to the cottage feel!Helpful Reply

Country Design Home on Jan 24, 2015Hi! Carol- what a sweet little room. I love the white puffy comforters, but I would create a "headboard" effect with one large pillow on the head of each bed and one more for a pop of color that goes with the rug. If you want to keep the curtains, then I would remove the swag and just have them hang straight down, otherwise I would remove and replace them with soft white or pale pink panels. One other thing to consider, painting that back window wall in a contrast color to create a focal point for the room and contrast all the white of the comforters and the walls.Helpful Reply

Melinda Edwards on Jan 24, 2015I like the ideas of lighter curtains, something airy to let in some light maybe. I'm thinking a few less pillows. Just my preference though.Helpful Reply

Carole on Jan 25, 2015I would change the curtains to something a little more simple. Perhaps the same fabric or similar but just have one curtain that wraps around the curtain rod and can be hooked out of the way to draw the curtains and just let if down to cover the window when they want to sleep. It is a small space and keeping cleaner lines and keeping it simple can work better than trying to put a lot of detail. I think the frilly curtains are a little too detailed in style for the very small space. This is just my suggestion and not meant in any way to be a criticism of your choice and tastes. Unless the bed is very high and difficult to climb in or out of, I would also say lose the furry stool as someone else here suggested. All in all, I think you have made a charming bedroom from your attic space.Helpful Reply

Terry on Jan 26, 2015Better, but still needs different or no curtains. They look heavy. The curtains look country and your room looks cottage, which is more airy. I'm kind of OCD too. I keep changing things in my home, LOL! Keep switching things out until it feels "just right" to you. Have fun with it!Helpful Reply
