Oil over Gel Stain?

Can I use oil based paint over Minwax Gel stain (steel door, wood doors, & trim) TIA ;)

Sure, just prep it properly - clean grease & dirt off (TSP is a favorite for really grimy items), maybe lightly sand... Of course once you paint it staining is out unless you bring it back to bare wood

I wouldn't do it without sanding. And a good oil-based primer is never a bad idea :-)

@SLS Construction & Building Solutions LLC is right do your prep work first. Also the gel stain finish needs to be adhering well, not peeling or blistering. Your top coat is only as good as the base coat. Good luck
