I tried to post this comment and I don't see it, so sorry if this is a repeat. anyhow, I like the look of your kitchen currently, and don't really see the need for all the updates. Also, I have heard some complaints about a lot of splashing and even water damage to cabinets with apron-front sinks.

The only comment I have is that I LOVE your kitchen! Maybe a different paint color to change it up, but it's adorable!

I'd be very happy to have your kitchen just as it is.

Thanks for all of the comments! Since I've lived with the kitchen for a while, I think I take for granted the cute little details. I plan on repainting it this weekend - hopefully that will give me the fresh new look I need and then I can go from there. Thanks again!

Becky, thanks so much for the suggestions! If only I could get my pantry so organized...(and train my husband to keep it organized!).

You're welcome. As for your pantry, I understand. I could never get my family to put things back where they belonged until I started using baskets and containers. Though my hubby admitted that when I started using the covered containers in the base cabinets to keep the smaller food storage containers orderly he was not thrilled. He soon found out that it made things so much easier.

Very cute kitchen @Kristen Kaylor - I looked at your plans. I'm not sure what you mean by build out the pantry - if it is to make the shelves wider, you will be sacrificing counter space. For the pots rack, you indicated that you may move it higher with shelves below. I think I would tend to do it the opposite, especially if you have any heavy pots hanging there, not sure how tall you are, but it could be a hassle if it is too high. I like @Z idea of baskets too as well as you paint choice. Would love to see the progress pictures. You have good taste so I am sure it will look spectacular!

Cute kitchen! You have some great improvement ideas also. You might want to go with just a shade darker on the paint if you are doing white beadboarding for higher contrast. New sink is great idea and makes standing there so much nicer! LOL for sure replace blinds. And you might want to rethink butcher block ... bacteria, resealing, etc etc etc ... but if you love it, go for it!

Thanks again for all the inspiring comments! I'm actually in the process of repainting this weekend and so far, am loving the new color - it makes it so much more bright and airy. Phase 1: almost complete (painting). Phase 2: bead board, which will go up after Thanksgiving. Will update pics soon!

Are you using the annaglypta beadboard wallpaper Kristen? I love that stuff. Must easier to use too. AND it's paintable.

what is annaglypta beadboard wallpaper? I love beadboard, and want to put it on my ceiling in the kitchen. Curious. Do I look under wallpaper, or beadboard?
