Using chalk paint
-
SK on Elderberry on Jan 27, 2015When I paint upholstery, I make sure I clean first thoroughly. My first coat would be the color I would like to see when the distressing is done. It's very difficult to distress upholstery and have it come out with a great result. Fabric is difficult to distress. I might paint the fabric with my main color with at least two coats. Sanding in between each coat. Then using a watered down "distress" color and use it lightly to add your distress. I will be curious how this turns out. Please keep us posted. skHelpful Reply

Laura on Jan 27, 2015can you sand off the area with a light sandpaper first then paint it? That might help you when you distress it to get a more desirable color underneath.Helpful Reply
