The Ikea cabinet in my basement is no longer gathering dust because a few coats of paint, an addition here and there gave me a great place to work on my creations.
The First Coat.
DecoArt Decor Americana Chalky Paint. This color reminds me of the ocean.
Layers 2 3 4 & 5 make a big difference.
I added Vintage color paint from the same company with a dry brush effect. Let the first one dry and added a second to complete the layering. I stenciled Vintage Key in Relic paint also from the same line of products
Blue cork board provides a useful finish.
Relic covered the inside in one coat. I glued blue cork board to the back. To complete the project the outside and inside walls and top were received two coats of wax polished to a smooth finish. I varnished flat surfaces to protect form wear and tear.
The Before shot shows the difference color along with organization makes in my new craft room inspiring After the transformation.
