Wood Scrap Heart Hanging

What a great time of year for this project. This is a door hanging that can really carry you from Christmas to Spring (and after).
So you will need a 20" x 20" heart template and cut that out of 3/8" or 1/4" plywood. Then alternate boards across front including lath and 3/8" thick fence picket. Use liquid nails and 5/8" nails to attach from front. Turn over and cut all boards that extend around perimeter of heart.
Put on a watered down brown wash and let dry. Pull colors across boards with folded cardstock.
Texture, Texture, Texture! Now you can even sand to let more of the wood show through.
More pictures on my blog.
