DIY Dog Leash Holder

This DIY Dog Leash Holder is a simple and inexpensive project to make! I used my Silhouette CAMEO craft cutting machine but you could use any kind of stencils!
Here’s what you’ll need to make one:

-12″ x 12″ piece of wood (I buy 12″ x 48″ sheets of pine and cut them to size but Lowe’s or Home Depot will cut it for you if you ask.)

-Paint

-Spouncer

-A sheet of 12″ x 12″ scrapbook paper

-Repositionable Spray Adhesive

-Silhouette CAMEO

-Silhouette Hook

-Light Hold Cutting Mat (optional but really nice when working with paper stencils!)

-Two hooks with screws (mine were $1.99 each at World Market)

-Hanger for the back (triangle hangers, picture wire, etc)

-Silhouette Designs Used: Love is a four-legged word. For the dogs, I searched “dog” in the Silhouette Design store and used the German Shepherd and Husky because they look the most like my dogs)
I started by painting a coat of brown paint on the wood and letting it dry. Then I painted a streaky coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Florence to give it an aged look.
I stenciled on all the text and dog images.
The poor dogs went nuts when I hung their leashes since they thought it meant it was time for a walk. But it was 22 degrees out and I wasn’t bundling up myself and 3 kids so they had to wait for their dad to get home to walk them. Sorry, dogs.
I used a wire hanger on the back of my wood to hang the leash holder but you can use any type of picture holder you’d like.
