Wall craft fan, need help decorating

A fan was given to me and it needs decorating. It is a wooden slat, about 43 in. at the bottom wide and 19 in wide at widest section. The slats run up and down, 2 sections look like basket weave. It seems to be old, has a worn tag, made in China. I don't have a way to post picture. Can anyone help? I can't find a picture of one on internet. Thanks in advance.

It is always hard to give advice on something one can not see, but I will try. I am assuming you will hang this on a wall, if so. . . large silk flowers, along with a few smaller ones, is always a good choice (maybe 3 or 5, not an even number). You might put a pretty long scarf as a swag on it as part of the back ground but not to cover the fan, keeping one end higher than the other and the flowers in the middle. Some picks of long greenery sticking out from the flowers which follow the scarf somewhat, but does not cover it, will give a look of being creative. Work with it until you get something you like. The thing to remember is to create something you like, as it is your home.

@Janet Manger Thank you. Worked on it yesterday. pulled some ribbon through the two openings at top and then decorated with flowers matching the ribbons. Put a bow at the bottom to cover where its joined. It is fragile, appears to be old. I was told it is pretty. I don't know how to put pictures on here so know its hard to visualize. You gave me good ideas. Appreciate.
