Valentine Sweater Pillow

I don't usually decorate for Valentine's day but I had been wanting to make a sweater pillow and had the perfect red sweater to use. We don't have a lot of red in our décor so I came up with a way to add blue to match most of our décor.
It is a sweater pillow so I started with an old red sweater. Blue buttons and a pillow form.
I really don't sew so well. I did use my machine. I found straight lines in the sweater to follow to make a square big enough to fit around the pillow form. Of course leaving an opening to stuff the pillow form back in.
I cheated, instead of sewing all of the buttons onto the sweater pillow I just added red thread to all the blue buttons I had. I could have sewn them to the pillow and actually tried to do that but either was not patient enough or coordinated enough to sew all those buttons on with one hand in the pillow and one out.
Using chalk I drew a heart shape onto the front of the pillow. Then I used hot glue to add the already threaded buttons.
After gluing all the buttons on then just add the pillow form and hand sew the opening. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now I think I need to find more sweaters and make more pillows.
