Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Feb 04, 2015looked at this for a while. The two sides of the pliers with the holes are there to hold some sort of mandrel. The set screws hold them in place. The depth of how far the two sides come together is dependent upon the larger screw on the handle. Without seeing the parts that fit in those two holes these can be anything from a embosser of sorts or even a plier that came with some sort of snap setting kit. The pliers themselves are cheaply made so it appears that they were purchased at one time with some sort of kit. These are not a production type tool, only made for some sort of specialty kit.Helpful Reply

Hope Williams on Feb 04, 2015It is a glass snipper. It is missing the discs. A riveter would have the screw mounts placed so that they go one inside the other. In other words, they are facing the wrong way.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Feb 04, 2015Not a pop rivet tool. Its not missing any cutters on the side for glass, those are thumb screws on side that hold something in the small holes on the side of the pliers, Not snap ring plier as they would have tiny pins protruding out to enter into the tiny openings on the snap rings. Could be some type of tool for automotive service, as there are hundreds of specialty tools made for all the new connectors that they use in them. In any case, I looked at hundreds of photos last evening and have come to conclusion that without knowing what went into the holes on each side of the plier its impossible to know what they were used for. But for sure, they are low cost based on the quality of the metal handles which I would conclude is from some sort of tool set that had a special purpose. Some sort of setting plier to fasten something. Perhaps some sort of snap. The screw on the side allows the user to adjust the depth of how far the pliers are squeezed but need to know what is missing that fits in the head of the plier to know more about them.Helpful Reply
