Rolling Toy Boxes Made From Drawers

Our children needed more storage in their bedroom for their toys. Since their bunkbeds have a large space underneath, we knew we could find a way to utilize it for storage.
We turned some old kitchen drawers into rolling toy boxes by adding wheels and knobs.
These are the drawers we had in our workshop.
We added some extra bracing and then the wheels to the underside of the drawers.
The toy box looked a little too boring at this point, so we added some additional material to give it more interest.
This was some hardwood flooring that came out of a friends house during remodeling. There wasn't enough of it to install it as an actual floor in our home, but it the perfect type of material to use for small projects. We wrapped it around the toy boxes by mitering the corners and nailing to the boxes from the inside so you don't see any nail holes from the outside.
I gave the boxes a light sanding and filled the corners with wood filler, gave them a coat of primer and a few coats of paint and added decorative knobs.
The drawers are extra deep giving us plenty of room to store some of the kids' larger toys.

Love the use of old drawers. A place for toys, books, games, shoes, clothing, or whatever. Great idea to help our little ones get organized and be able to find their toys, etc.
