How to decorate a bedroom?

Marion Nesbitt on Feb 05, 2015This is difficult to answer without pics to show where your windows/door/etc. are located. Only suggestion I can made without pics is to try to position the bed so one side isn't pushed up to the wall for ease of changing sheets, etc.Helpful Reply

Kim on Feb 06, 2015I used to draw out my rooms putting the furniture in different spots until I was happy with the way I thought it would look, then I would rearrange it to the picture. After many years of that, now I can just look at a room and rearrange the pieces in my head.Helpful Reply

Marcy, Professional Designer, Artist and Arts and Crafts Instructor on Feb 06, 2015Every well designed room needs a focal point, create one with a piece of furniture a dresser and mirror, an armoire with the television above it, a wall of paintings, collectibles, etc. Allow enough space to walk around the bed and to make the bed. Design your night tables, with a lamp, clock, room for water, organized on a tray looks pretty. Use a tranquil color, blue or green for example, or a theme, and room darkening curtains, etc. to keep the sun out if wanted.Helpful Reply

Peggy Guiler on Feb 06, 2015When I heard that it was best not to have the foot of the bed toward the door I thought that was crazy because that is the way bedrooms are designed but when I consider the best sleeps I've had are usually in hotel rooms with the bed facing the other way I reconsidered. I can't do in our house because of slanted ceilings but it would be nice. http://feng-shui.lovetoknow.com/Feng_Shui_Bed_PositioningHelpful Reply

M'sMammy on Feb 06, 2015I prefer putting the foot of the bed toward the door, if possible .Maybe it has to do with keeping a watch out for sabre tooth tigers or feng shui but I know I sleep better.Helpful Reply
