Easy DIY to unfreeze car doors

  • Hair dryer works. Or dampen a few large bath towels and put them into dryer for few min. Once hot, place over door openings. Another method assuming you can get into the other door, start car and run heat for several min. This will defrost the gaskets that are preventing the door from opening You can also simply pour hot water over the door and in case of key over the key opening, not in it, and that does the trick. Be careful not to pour boiling water on any glass for fear of shattering.

    WD40 - Mechanical Lube. It works as anti freeze too, particularly good as it has a straw attachment to focus in the lock. Its worked wonders for me for the past ten late winters. :)

    i know this doesn't help the immediate problem; but once you DO get it open; use a silicone spray to spray all around the door & gaskets/rubber....we do this EVERY winter; & sometimes a couple times when its an extreme one [you can use it for the locks as well]
