How do you get an old coffee stain out of a jacket?

First, try Oxyclean. If that doesn't work, then try pouring clorox bleach directly on the stain and then put it under running water to rinse it out. Then wash as usual. The bottom line is that you garment is ruined as it is. The bleach might sound drastic, but it could possibly do the trick.

I use equal parts dawn dish soap mixed with hydrogen peroxide. I've been amazed at the stains I've gotten out with it. I've never had it change the color of anything I've laundered but it very slightly lightened an area of a rug I used it on.
