Kristin, spend as much money as you like. If you really love an oasis in your back yard spend ...»

Landscaping: Have any ideas on how my sellers can change their terraced backyard from awful to awesome?

All buyers have rejected the spectacular house because of the steep but terraced back yard. There is a walkout door from the basement about 20 feet from the first wall. They are willing ...»
to finish the patio and put in some landscaping but how to divert the attention from the edge and show that it is still useable space...thats the issue.

@ Meri, I was thinking the same thing. Color on each level of the retaining wall. Low lying ...»

Check out this inviting outdoor living space!

It includes a custom deck around a resistance pool and an arbor with a fireplace that anchors one end of the yard. Pavers and stone laid in sod tie the two areas together.

  • My backyard goldfish pond. 12

I just wanted to share my pride and joy!

My goldfish pond! It has given us such an enjoyment to sit by everyday. We have 30 goldfish that are now 6 years old! They are getting quite big and beautiful and very soothing to watch.

Gardening: Evergreen Screen for privacy.

We are in the process of planning the evergreen screen for the backyard of our home. Right now it is very open and very large. In the future we will put the deck and possibly the pool, but want to start the screen asap. Any recommendations on the selection of the plants and any other provisions to keep in mind would be appreciated. You can see on the photo that the messy neighbors and always hungry deers are both serious issues for us.
