I purchased this pot at an antique store and I'd like to know a little about it. Age, brand, and what it was used for?

Kathy Winning I believe those embossed critters are lobster or crawfish remember my great grandma used something similar on her chambers stove back in the fifties.

I'm betting this a John Wright pot. The company is still in business a hundred years later. (family owned & run) They are the only cast iron company I know of that embosses with animals, insects..etc. You might contact their company and inquire about this pot. http://www.jwright.com/ Good luck!

The critters look like crabs, is it a tall pot, if so then a crab cooker/steamer

It looks like a frog with a bow tie. I collect cast iron and I have not seen that logo.

My eye spotted frogs with bow ties right away. I don't think they're crabs. It's frogs. Cant help with brand names, sadly.

Ninja frogs! Just kidding, but they do look like frogs more than crabs.

WOW...TOO CUTE! I would LOVE to have a pot like that because I collect frogs. I will keep an eye on ebay just in case one pops up for sale.
